CoDA Literature Sales

A large supply of CoDA Literature is available for purchase at Intergroup Meetings. (Local meetings often buy literature from Intergroup and then sell it to attenders; if you are an individual we suggest you see if your local meeting sells literature.)

Groups and individuals are welcome to buy literature through Intergroup monthly business meetings.

Literature can also be obtained from CoDA World Fellowship at www.coda.org or by email at corelit@aol.com

What is "Intergroup"?

NYC CoDA Intergroup is New York City's CoDA community service committee, a monthly gathering of representatives from the individual meetings throughout New York City. Concerns of individual meetings and matters of common interest are discussed.

What does Intergroup actually do?

1. Intergroup updates and distributes the monthly meeting list.
2. Intergroup maintains the telephone recording listing meetings (646-289-9954).
3. Maintains a web site www.codependentsnyc.org with meeting locations, announcements, articles, and a link to the national CoDA web site.
4. Serves as a source of approved literature, and creates local literature, including Reflections Newsletter and the Tools of Recovery Booklet.
5. Provides a suggested meeting format (last revised in November, 2001)
6. Plans city-wide CoDA special events, such as NYC CoDA "Share-A-Thons" and periodic workshops on such topics as working the Steps, Affirmations and the CoDA Tools of Recovery.

How do decisions get made?

Each meeting in the city can send a representative.
Does your meeting have a rep? If not, bring it up at your next business meeting or during the CoDA-related announcements.
While only official representatives from meetings may vote, any individual CoDA member is welcome to attend Intergroup Meetings and participate in the discussions.

Who pays for Intergroup?

We all do. We are self-supporting, according to our 7th Tradition. That means individual meetings contribute to make all our activities possible. We pay for printing the meeting lists, keeping a dedicated phone line, running a web site, space for Intergroup meetings and special events and more. Our events often lose money, so we rely on donations from CoDA groups.

Our expenses are around $200 per month.

Has your group given recently? Please consider passing around a separate envelope each month.

Treasurers, please remember to announce: "We have no dues or fees, but we do have expenses such as rent and donations to Intergroup and other CoDA organizations."

Bring donations to the Intergroup meeting:

What "other" CoDA organizations are you referring to?

New York State and CoDA World Fellowship also need support.

New York State CoDA handles issues of concern to the state, sends delegates to the national convention so that New York is represented at the national level, publishes a newsletter, and maintains a state meeting list among other things. Please note the current mailing address. As of January, 2002 donations to NY State CoDA go to:

NY State CoDA
P.O. Box 9179
Albany, NY 12209

CoDA World Fellowship produces literature, runs www.coda.org , responds to calls and communications from across the country, runs conferences, has an annual meeting to address concerns of the fellowship across the country, and more. Send donations to:

CoDA World Fellowship
P.O. Box 33577
